Good day everyone. Everyone probably already received the email from Transport Canada regarding the AAIR. I’d thought I’d post the email here as well.
Aviation safety remains of utmost importance, and Transport Canada (TC) continues to advance work that supports greater availability and analysis of safety intelligence.
In April 2023, TC informed aircraft owners of the temporary suspension of the Annual Airworthiness Information Report (AAIR) with exemption NCR-003-2023, at which time aircraft owners were advised to retain data tied to the 2022 reporting cycle as it would be required at a later date.
Starting this January, aircraft owners must submit two years’ worth of data (2022 and 2023) to fulfill the regulatory requirements for AAIR. The data requested is the same as in previous years – no new data points have been added. However, TC will fully leverage digital technology to drive operational efficiencies, reduce costs and the environmental impact of paper-based processes, and improve client experience and communication. As such, aircraft owners will be required to submit their AAIR using the online platform through the Continuing Airworthiness Web Information System (CAWIS). Rest assured, we will include simple instructions to guide you through the access and use of the online platform when we notify you of the start of the AAIR reporting cycle in early January via email.

The changes you submit will be reflected in CAWIS since your information is used to distribute critical safety information (service difficulty reports, Airworthiness Directives, Safety Alerts, etc.) and in our Canadian Civil Aircraft Register Computer System.
Please note that changing your address in CAWIS any other time than during an AAIR reporting cycle will not update your address on your Certificate of Registration. You must continue to fulfill your responsibilities under the Canadian Aviation Regulations Part II and notify the Minister of address changes. This can be achieved at no cost by emailing your local Transport Canada service centre.
